MONDAY
Well if you're on this side of the world, you've returned to work and have finished your first day back! Congratulations! Now it's time to relax with a cup of tea or a glass of wine (if you're of age) and read your Monday Nelly Bellie blog post, and then enter my Holiday Giveaway Contest that closes January 10, 2014 - only a few more days to enter! Click here to possibly win FREE stuff!
I have officially started another semester of University, but I have to admit things went a bit slow today since I'm still getting over this bug (yes still!) and I had to do a majorly large amount of laundry today (don't you hate when you let it all pile up). Always fun! It's so hard to get back in to the swing of things, whether it be work, school, or getting through your day without a Christmas tree (I finally took ours down today, so sad).
MARVELLOUS JUAN PABLO
So who watched The Bachelor preview show last night and who is watching the premiere tonight? All I can say is "Juan Pablo" to the point where I'm starting to bug Chris (hehe). My sister and I have decided to watch it "together" across the country. We live on opposite sides of the country, but we are both going to watch each episode and then report back to each other with our thoughts (which I will share with you guys). If you don't like The Bachelor, and feel that it is mindless drivel (like my father), that's totally ok. I am just going to do a small feature each week that it is on, but will also include bits and bobs about other things as well. So do not fret. It won't be The Bachelor overload.
MOVIES
Over the holidays we watched some great movies that I wanted to share with you. They are all different genres, but they are all really fabulous flicks!
First up is Sweet Sixteen (2002). Although some of the movie is hard to understand due to the strong Scottish accents, this is definitely a must see, especially if you love anything that is UK oriented. "Determined to have a normal family life once his mother gets out of prison, a Scottish teenager from a tough background sets out to raise the money for a home (IMDb)". Click here for more information.
Next up is Elysium (2013). I was a bit sceptical about Matt Damon's role in a science-fiction movie, but I have to say he did a great job. Not only did this movie not feel overly American (if you know what I mean) but it was also action packed, unique, and I really enjoyed it. "In the year 2154, the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth. A man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarised worlds (IMDb)". Click here to find out more.
Finally, I definitely wanted to share The Selfish Giant (2013) with you. Again this is a UK flick (who doesn't love a UK flick?) and it is a must see! I love movies that are unique, and these two young boys are amazing actors! You might need a box of Kleenex for this one though. "The Selfish Giant is a contemporary fable about two scrappy 13-year-old working-class friends in the UK who seek fortune by getting involved with a local scrap dealer and criminal, leading to tragic consequences. (IMDb)". Click here to find out more.
MAKE-UP
If you haven't heard about the Naked3 Palette by Urban Decay, you are probably my father. I'm pretty sure everyone else has heard of it by now. I will definitely be purchasing this palette once I get a little work under my belt, but for now I wanted to share this with you in case you haven't heard about it.
I have seen SO MANY reviews on this palette and they are all two thumbs up. Yes, the palette is on the pricier side, BUT it will last a long time, and the colours can be used for pretty much any type of look. If you want to order one click here and don't forget to mention that I sent you. :) Also, if you have the palette let me know your thoughts!
If you are looking for a cheaper alternative (that also includes blush and lip glosses), I am really loving my Sephora Collection Plum Daze Blinged Palette that Chris got me for Christmas. Click here to see my "What I Got For Christmas 2013" video. I tried a look out today and when Chris got home from work he actually complemented me on it. That's always a good sign! Click here if you want to get one for yourself. It's the perfect size to chuck in your purse.
