why Nelly Bellie? Nelly Bellie was inspired by my four legged friend (fur-daughter) Nelly. She came into our lives in July of 2013 and nothing has ever been the same since. Not only do I want to share the good, the bad, and the ugly of raising a puppy, but this blog is also a place for me to share bits and bobs about all the things I love. how did the Nelly Bellie blog get its name? …… my Grandmother's name was Eleanor (on the Welsh side of our family) and as a nickname we called her Nelly and we used to sing Nelly the Elephant with her (not in a mean way of course!), and then I found out my boyfriend's Great Grandmother was also given the nickname Nelly… so bam… Nelly was named. Nelly Bellie came about because everyone always comments on how cute her belly is (yes puppies can have cute bellies too) which leads us to NELLY BELLIE.
what is Nelly Bellie's full name? …… Eleanor Rigby of Ardendale (this isn't a joke it's on her registry papers).
what type of puppy is Nelly? …… Nelly is a West Highland White Terrier (aka a Westie).
how old is Nelly? …… Nelly is 1 and half years old.
what type of food does Nelly eat? …… Nelly only eats dry food, and currently she is eating a brand from our vet because of her allergy issues. Westies' are prone to having allergies so you need to be really careful with their food. Avoid corn and rice. We have tried LOTS of different foods, so if you need any advice feel free to contact me.
where does Nelly sleep? …… Nelly sleeps in her crate and has since she was a puppy. She actually loves it. I highly recommend crate training if you decide to get a puppy or dog.
collar or harness? …… Nelly has both but we mostly use the harness unless we are taking her out for a quick jaunt.
